Access the report: Financialization in 13 cities

This comparative report draws from experts across 13 cities, including HRC collaborators Penny Gurstein and Tom Davidoff, to help understand how financialization is defined and experienced in different contexts.

Since this report was compiled, a study just released using data from the Canadian Housing Statistics Program showed that 45.6% of the investment property bought in Vancouver was owned by individuals and companies who hold a minimum of three condominiums.  It is even higher in Abbotsford an exurban community of Vancouver where it is 69.9% and in Ontario, Toronto is at 46.7% and London, Ontario is the highest percentage at 94.2%.
